We understand how hectic life can be these days. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day and children face the same obstacle. The daily schedule and the fast pace of society today leaves us and our children little time to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Every moment is precious and we need to take advantage of the time we have. Children grow up so fast and there are so many lessons to be learned.

We feel that children need more positive and structured activities to enhance their character development skills and to achieve a way of life that includes respecting others, respecting themselves, building a positive attitude, gaining self-confidence, becoming physically fit, and achieving better academic skills.

Childrens' Beginner Classes

Our childrens' beginner program is designed to focus on the needs of the children. Karate will help them develop confidence, self-esteem, and discipline, and to realize that fighting does not solve problems. Children will learn that their mind is their best weapon and that they are the leaders of the future.

We teach children in a family-friendly environment so they are comfortable in their surroundings. They will make lots of new friends while learning the basic skills of self-defense. From the moment they are introduced to their new classmates, watch as the seeds of confidence grow within them. The children will be taught the benefits of exercise and stretching, along with wholesome values, and that a good education will help them to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Watch as your child's coordination, balance, and motor skills improve. Students become stronger, more disciplined, and better focused. See the smiles on their faces and the gleam in their eyes when they receive a stripe on their belt for an accomplishment they have achieved.

Students in the beginner classes work on their white, tiger yellow, junior yellow, junior orange, and junior purple belts. Students who test for their purple belts receive a certification from the school and their instructors, acknowledging their accomplishment and their rank.

Childrens' Intermediate/Advanced Classes

Intermediate and advanced classes are for students who want to continue studying American Kenpo Karate and self-defense.

Intermediate classes are for students who have graduated from the beginner class and have shown that they understand and can apply the basic defense skills they have been taught. The intermediate student will then begin their journey into the principles, concepts, and application of karate and self-defense in today's society.

Students in the intermediate classes work on their blue and green belts. Students who test for their blue and green belts receive a certification from the school and their instructors, acknowledging their accomplishment and their rank.

Advanced classes are for students who have been training for a minimum of five years. They have become accomplished at the art of karate and can apply their self-defense techniques to an opponent's body. They have become physically and mentally strong, kept their grades up in school, and developed a positive attitude. Their resistance to peer pressure and knowing the dangers of drugs and alcohol on their young minds and bodies has been a building block for their character development. These students are LEADERS, not followers, and volunteer their time by helping students in the beginner and intermediate classes.

Students in the advanced classes work on the seven levels of brown belt and their junior black belt. Students who test for their brown and black belts receive a certification from the school and their instructors, acknowledging their accomplishment and their rank.

Adult Classes

Adult classes are for adults who would like to learn self-defense and karate in an atmosphere of comfort. This class is for all adults, whether you are in shape and have studied karate before, whether you would like to get in shape, relieve stress, or just have some fun and meet new people. The adult class can bring a much-needed hour of enjoyment with people who have good attitudes and enjoy helping each other. Exercise at your own pace, have fun, and achieve your goals of a healthier mind and body while learning the skills to protect yourself and your family.

Sparring

Once students earn their yellow belts, they can learn how to spar. Sparring lets students learn how to apply the techniques they have learned in a safe, protected, environment, while preparing them for tournaments.
